Mr. Deep, the spokesperson from Lincoln, said the automaker will partner with a Chinese manufacturer, Changan Automobile Group, in the joint venture to manufacture new SUVs.

Deep further added that China wants foreign automobile manufacturers to partner with a Chinese firm in a joint venture to make luxury vehicles on Chinses soil.

He also added the luxury unit of Ford will continue to export from North America for company’s Chinese buyers.

The president of Lincoln, Mr. Kumar Galhotra, said in statement “The Lincoln product and ownership in China is resonating with Chinese customers even beyond our expectations.”

Mr. Kumar also added that the company now taking itself to the next level by manufacturing a new luxury SUV in China that will be able to join a dynamic roster of imported vehicles and SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles).

The Dearborn-based company wouldn’t like reveal anything about the SUV and it simply said that this will be a brand new SUV car. This newly surprising move from the company will help it reach rising demand in the China.

The spokesperson from Ford Motor Co. stated that the joint venture between Ford and Changan Automobile Group is in the process of receiving authorization for this decision to manufacture Lincoln vehicles locally in the country.

According to the Lincoln Motor, automaker’s Chinese market growth was explosive. The company reported in January, last year it sold 32,559 vehicles in the country, approximately triple the sales in 2015. By producing SUVs in China, it will avoid 25% in customs taxes the China imposes on imported automobiles.

With this latest joint venture, Ford Motor Co. will join a roster of luxury automakers such as Daimler AG’s Marcedes-Benz, Volkswagen’s Audi and BMW AG that are previously producing vehicle models in the China.
