mwc 2017 world largest conference of mobile industry underway in spain

With no Samsung and Apple, all other major companies including LG, Sony, Lenovo, Motorola, Nokia, Huawei and even BlackBerry are expected to come up with new models at MWC 2017.

Mobile World Congress is the world’s largest conference for the mobile industry, organized by GSMA being held in Barcelona, Spain between 27 February and 2 March 2017.

Nokia is drawing attention with its new range of Android smartphones the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 models along with redesigned Nokia 3310. The classic smartphone manufacturer was earlier using Microsoft Windows as its operating system and now switched over to Android.

HMD-Global promoted Nokia launched Nokia 6, which is a mid-range Android smartphone with 5.5-inch 1080p screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and 3GB of RAM. Nokia 5 comes with a smaller 5.2 inch 720p screen with a 13-megapixel back camera and 8-megapixel front camera. Nokia 3 is more of a more basic phone among the three models.
It has a MediaTek’s quad-core processor, 5-inch display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The front and rear cameras are of 8 megapixels.

But the most attractive part among the Nokia phones is the return of Nokia 3310 in a redesigned form. It was one of the world's largest-selling mobile phone, launched in 2000 and discontinued in 2005. It sold almost 120 million units worldwide.

Nokia was the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer between 1998 and 2011 but, it was surpassed by Samsung after the rise of android smartphones.

Samsung has no device to showcase at Mobile World Congress 2017, as the company is taking its time to launch a new model after the Galaxy Note 7 phones debacle.
Samsung was forced to recall millions of Galaxy Note 7 units.

As usual Apple, the world's second largest mobile phone manufacturer will also not participate in the event. Now, with the top two makers out of the picture, it is up to the smaller mobile phone makers with an opportunity to capture the attention.
