The automotive manufacturing company, Volkswagen Group, will recall almost 50000 vehicles in China due to brake design defects starting next month, as per state media stated today.

The German automobiles manufacturer will start taking back the affected vehicles to workshops from 6 February; VW will repair the brake booster without charging any amount.

Volkswagen Group is said to have recognized problems in noise filter on brake boosters, which may cause malfunction.

According to a statement displayed on the official website of China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the VW AG will recall Beetles manufactured between 1 July 2012 and 6 August 2015 and Golfs manufactured between 1 July 2012 and 6 July 2013. The affected automobiles are 49,480 imported units of the Golf and Beetle models.

ASDIQ further added that the problem highlighting a faulty part that can cause the brake system to fail if the vehicle is in cruise control for a long period of time. VW AG will fix the problem for free, as said by ASDIQ.

The company also warned affected vehicle owners in China to stop using the cruise control system.

The car designer and manufacturer company Volkswagen Group has been under inspection after the company admitted that it had equipped a specific software device in its diesel car models sold in the United States, to successfully pass the government emissions tests. The emission cheating scandal has affected approximately 11 million vehicles globally. The German-based company was forced to undertake recall exercise in many nations since then.

Internationally, several automobile companies have been taking back their models in higher numbers due to numerous problems, mostly being related to Takata airbags issues.
