philippiness president admits killing criminal suspects as mayor

Rodrigo Duterte, the president of Philippines accepted that he personally finished suspected criminals while he was serving as the mayor of Davao.

A shocking confession has been made by the current president of Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte. The leader of the Southeast Asian country accepted that he personally killed suspects whom he thought were involved in criminal activities during his tenure as the mayor of a prominent southern city in the country.

Duterte was delivering a speech to business leaders on Monday night in which he was discussing various efforts that are active in the nation to curb illegal drugs. He spoke about the native police which has killed suspects during the recent crime war and in addition to this, Duterte added that he himself exercised similar steps while serving as the mayor of Davao.

This latest comment was launched right before Duterte’s departure for an overseas trip. The president even spilled out precise details that, he used to tour different sections of Davao on a motorbike during the night time in search for showdowns where he could kill criminal suspects. These actions were aimed to establish an example for the police to use destructive force towards the lawbreakers.

The latest announcement is an extension to the comments made in 2015 when he accepted the killing of three men who were questionable on the grounds of rape and kidnapping in Davao.

A total count of 6,000 people is estimated to be killed by police and vigilantes since Duterte has initiated his drug war after his appointment in May. The leader has no regrets about his brutal policy as he speaks, “There's three million drug addicts. I'd be happy to slaughter them."

Human rights groups along with U.S President Barack Obama have already criticized Duterte for his anti-crime strategies which are not wise.
